NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS. Any emails sent will be ignored. This page will be updated when the situation changes.

It is very difficult to keep abreast of all the work involved in running Ergofiction so we welcome guest content. Besides, the more the merrier! Click through the menu above to find out more.

We welcome guest content from readers and writers alike, and are always looking for new voices. If you’re interested or have ideas for topics, please get in touch by emailing ergofiction[at]gmail[dot]com.

We’re also happy to hear from you with suggestions on what we should write or be covering — if there’s a topic you feel we’ve sorely neglected, please get in touch and let us know.

What we’re looking for:

• Starting a new story? Finishing an old one? Please tell us about any developments and such! We’re happy to receive media releases, too. If we think it will interest our readers, we’ll post about it.

• Awesome fan highlights: As mentioned in 6 Tips for Webfiction Fans article, we are open to all fan-created content. It can be anything from dressing up as your favorite character to writing silly haikus. Anything goes, really. So if you create something and want to share your love for the story with the world, get in touch.

• Guest posts: Interested in writing a 500-1,500 word article for us? We are very much interested in hearing about your opinions and experiences in the webfiction world. Get in touch! Writing guest posts gets you “out there” and promotes your website! More details.

• Fiction highlights: Are you a webfiction author? Would you like your story showcased on Ergofiction? You might just be able to! More details here.

• Are you an author? We’re always on the hunt for short story submissions, too.

Contributions policy
Given that we promote freely available online writing, Ergofiction is a non-paying ezine. Unless otherwise mentioned, by submitting to Ergofiction you are giving us non-exclusive first print electronic rights for publication on the Internet, as well as the right to put the content into a potential ebook at some future stage. For previously published work, you are giving us non-exclusive electronic rights for publication on the Internet, as well as the ebook clause. What this means in laymen’s terms is upon acceptance, we purchase the rights to place the content on our website, and to retain it in our archives until such a time that you, the author, asks us to remove it. Should the story be removed, we retain the right to place it in an ebook version at some point.

Style guide
Acceptance of articles and so forth is not automatic; should something not meet our specifications, we may request edits. Style-wise, we like single spaces, with a line break between paragraphs (i.e. two hard returns, and no tabbing). While we do not proofread every story 100% for grammatical and formatting errors, we may edit the style of your submission to fit our in-house rules and do our best to correct blatant errors.
