The Webfiction Introduction Scavenger Hunt
First things first, Ergofiction Magazine wishes all of you a happy 2010. We are convinced this year will rock, even though it didn’t start off great for us at the Ergofiction Headquarters. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, we’re still in Beta Mode, but we’ll crawl out of it. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Next week should we’ll publish the first proper issue, and a bunch of exciting announcements, but right now is the time for some silly pirate madness.
Yup, you read that right, it’s time to embrace your inner pirate, because this week Ergofiction brings you its first “Webfiction Scavenger Hunt!” Everybody say “Aaaarr”!!
The idea is simple:
The crew* has picked 4 stories in different genres that they deem excellent introductions to the webfiction world. After reading the first 3 chapters of a story, you should be able to solve a simple puzzle. The answers to this puzzle will give you the password to access the next round. After 4 rounds you gain access to the Scavenger Hunt Treasure Page, which offers a prize to all who find it. But the biggest prize is that you’ll hopefully have found a story you enjoy.
Without much further ado, here is the first Scavenger Hunt Puzzle:
You can find The Legion of Nothing here, or by clicking on the image. Be sure to note down the password, as you’ll need it to access the next puzzle, which will be posted Tuesday evening! Questions? Feel free to ask in the comments, but please don’t give any spoilers. Enjoy reading, and good luck with finding all the answers!
The 2nd stage is now live! Go enter your password! No spaces!
*Yes, we have a crew now, which means there are more of us. In fact this puzzle was created by our newest member! One of next week’s announcements will answer all questions about this mysterious person, but we can unveil one thing already. (S)he is awesome, wicked and cool and will rock our webfiction world.
