Issue 2 – Editorial
It's all about being interactive
Welcome to Ergofiction’s second official issue!
Last week we discussed the social aspects of webfiction, including how to use social media such as Twitter, StumbleUpon, and the like.
This week, we’ll dive into the different kinds of webfiction, and focus a bit more on its most involving form: interactive fiction. One of the reasons we love webfiction is because the medium gives authors more opportunities to interact with their audience, whether it be through polls, forums, or any other means.
But the beauty of webfiction is that it’s not only easy for authors to engage with their fans, but also for them to collaborate with fellow authors.
A first example of this is the current Uhopping tale about an evil universe-crossing baby-snatcher, who is spreading havoc throughout several webfiction stories.
Andy Fanton and MCM have collaborated for an illustrated cross-universe adventure of Steamduck and Lord Likely, which will go live tomorrow, recently launched!
But first, let’s give you this week’s run-down.
Issue 2 Overview
Coming up Monday is an extensive overview of the different existing types of webfiction.
On Wednesday, Anna will interview a new guest at the CafĂ©, one who looks very spiffy in his picture. As usual, there will also be our Webfiction Wednesday overview, giving the week’s highlights in recommendations and reviews.
[EDIT] On Thursday we added a breaking news post about Lord Likely’s 24-hour adventure!
And to wrap things up, on Friday Sunday we’ll shine a light on the best types of interactive story telling out there.
As always, we look forward to hearing your thoughts.
This is Jan, over and out.
